The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has appointed Rajeev Shukla and Ashish Shelar to key positions within the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). Shukla, currently serving as BCCI Vice-President, will assume the role of Executive Board Member on the ACC Board, filling the vacancy left by Jay Shah’s transition to Chair of the International Cricket Council (ICC). Shelar, former BCCI treasurer, has been designated as the Ex-Officio Board Member representing BCCI on the ACC Board.

These appointments come in the wake of significant leadership changes, with Shah’s elevation to ICC Chairmanship creating pivotal openings within the ACC. The BCCI expressed confidence in Shukla and Shelar’s ability to contribute effectively to the promotion and development of cricket across Asia.

The ACC, established in 1983, plays a crucial role in fostering cricketing ties and enhancing the sport’s infrastructure and popularity throughout the Asian continent. The inclusion of experienced administrators like Shukla and Shelar is anticipated to bolster the council’s initiatives and strategic objectives in the region.-AirMedia Broadcast.
