She stepped into the ring 🛟with courage, fought with conviction, and walked out a champion

Yashika Sharma, a Class VIII NCC Army Wing Cadet of Army Public School Udhampur, brought immense pride to the school by clinching the Gold Medal at the SGFI State U-17 Girls Boxing Championship, held in Srinagar from 14 to 18 September 2026.

Competing with confidence, determination and commendable sporting spirit, Yashika delivered an impressive performance throughout the championship. She began her campaign with a convincing victory over Jammu by RSC (Referee Stops Contest). In her second bout, she defeated Kathua by a decisive 5–0 margin, followed by another commanding 5–0 victory over Ramban in the third bout.

Her consistent performance, technical skill and unwavering determination enabled her to emerge as the State U-17 Girls Boxing Champion, adding yet another achievement to the sporting accomplishments of APS Udhampur.

Yashika’s success is a reflection of her dedication, discipline, perseverance and relentless pursuit of excellence. Her achievement has brought honour to APS Udhampur and the NCC Army Wing and serves as an inspiration to fellow students.
