Radio Outreach Organises Awareness Programme on Clean Drinking Water During Monsoon

Jagatsinghpur/Odisha: Radio Outreach 90.8 FM organised an awareness programme and narrowcasting session at Jaykrushna High School, Ibrisingh, under Tirtol Block of Jagatsinghpur district, focusing on the importance of drinking clean and safe water during the monsoon season.

The programme aimed to create awareness among school students about the importance of safe drinking water and the precautions necessary to prevent waterborne diseases during the rainy season. Around 150 students participated in the programme and actively listened to awareness jingles broadcast by Radio Outreach 90.8 FM.

Station Director of Radio Outreach 90.8 FM, Subrat Kumar Pati, attended the programme and spoke to the students about various aspects of safe drinking water practices. He highlighted the increased risk of water contamination during the monsoon and emphasised the need to consume clean and safe drinking water. He also discussed simple preventive measures that can be followed at home and in school to protect oneself from waterborne illnesses.

Eminent educationist Murali Charan Rout joined the programme as the Chief Guest. Addressing the students, he appreciated the initiative and stressed the importance of developing healthy habits among children. He encouraged the students to follow safe water practices themselves and share the message with their families and communities.

As part of the narrowcasting session, students listened to specially prepared radio awareness jingles focusing on clean drinking water and healthy practices during the monsoon. The audio-based awareness initiative helped make the message simple, engaging and accessible to the students.

Satya Prakash Das, Headmaster of Jaykrushna High School, appreciated the efforts of Radio Outreach 90.8 FM in taking health and hygiene awareness messages directly to schools. He said such programmes play an important role in educating students on issues that have a direct impact on their health and well-being.

The programme also provided an opportunity for students to interact with the organisers and learn about the importance of maintaining safe water and hygiene practices during the rainy season.
