On 22 August 2026, Radio Vishwas organised an Inter-Vasti Mangalagauri Competition at Vishwas Garden, Savarkar Nagar, Nashik, under our Hinsa Ko No project. The programme brought together approximately 80 women, girls and senior women from seven communities across Nashik, including Vadala Gaon, Anna Bhau Sathe Nagar, Bharat Nagar, Kasturba Nagar, Nandini Nagar, Ramoshiwada and Milind Nagar.
What made the programme particularly meaningful was that traditional Mangalagauri performances were used as a medium for social messaging. The participating groups presented performances around themes such as dowry, child marriage, prevention of sexual violence, women's empowerment, environmental awareness and Aaji Bai Chi Shaala.
Beyond the performances, the programme aimed to provide women with a safe and joyful space to come together, express themselves, discover and showcase their talents, and build confidence. Many women who were initially hesitant to perform came forward and took the stage with encouragement from their peers and the Radio Vishwas team.
The programme was judged by Ms. Riya Raj, content creator, and Adv. Mrunal Bhide, advocate, and was graced by Mr. Vishwas Jaydev Thakur, Kutumb Pramukh, Vishwas Group, and Dr. Manoj Eknath Shimpi, President, Vishwas Dnyan Prabodhini and Research Institute.
The programme was supported by several community partners and individuals, including Sony Gifts, Shri Gajanan Caterers and Chaitanya Techno School, who contributed towards participant gifts, food and transportation
